Bonfire Night with a difference.

Some young people from the #I will project have being planning a bonfire night for the residents of Ward court in Rastrick, unfortunately due to the recent lockdown because of corvid the young people had to come together and alter their plans for the night as this didn’t fit into the lockdown scenario. The young people looked at how they could meet the needs of the residence and stay safe for all parties. They came up with a delivery service to their flats, but a few residents wanted to come down and collect their pie and peas unfortunately we had to cancel the entertainment afterwards. The young people met and went shopping to serve pie and peas and homemade parkin. The three young people came to make the parkin this was the first time they had made it. They organised themselves and organised what jobs they would undertake I was very proud of the young people. Understanding that they had to change their plans at last minute and adhere to the covid  restrictions , when the young people delivered the pie and peas with the parkin to the flats all young people wore masks and we’re very polite the residents were extremely grateful to the young people and although the plans were changed everyone seemed to have a great time some residents we’re upset they couldn’t eat as a group but understood why they couldn’t and the young people said they will plan the game higher and lower after the restrictions.

The group of young people have decided to continue with the home delivery situation until they can get back to normal after this restriction have been lifted.
